Happy four-month birthday, Miss Madeleine! Here are a few tidbits about you:
You are growing, growing, growing! We just moved you up to size 2 diapers, and you're about to be too long for your 0-3 month sleepers. We have a doctor's appointment on Tuesday, so we'll find out your stats then.
You have decided that giving Mommy a full night's sleep just isn't cool. She knew the 4-month sleep regression/growth spurt was coming but was naively hoping it would pass you up. Your bedtime is still 8:00, but you're up now around 11, then around 3, then again around 6. Wake up is around 8, but you go back down for a nap an hour and a half after you wake up. You also take a little nap around the middle of the day, then a nice long nap every afternoon. Night sleeping is still in your hammock, but we're working on getting you to sleep in your crib during the day.
You will take a pacifier while you're sleeping, but aren't a huge fan of them otherwise. You like to suck on the end half of your index fingers most of the time while you're awake, though.
You can move! You just started rolling from your tummy to your back about a week ago, and if it wasn't for that darn elbow you'd make it over from your back to your tummy.
You love to play! You have fun standing in your exersaucer and showing off your skills. The caterpillar thing Big Sister loved isn't really a favorite of yours, but it does work long enough for Mommy to get dressed in the morning. You don't really like your swing anymore, either, and would rather sit propped up on the couch.
Your smiles are a regular occurrence now, and you like to flirt with whomever Mommy is talking to while she holds you. Giggling is still harder to get out of you, but most of the time a little tickle under your chin works. You also love to laugh at Big Sister's antics. None of the rest of us know what she does that's so funny to you, but you are enthralled with her. You've also just started blowing raspberries, and they are a normal part of your cooing now.
