We celebrated Chris and Lauren's engagement at a fun fiesta Saturday night in San Antonio. Claire was a wonderful little hostess and partied the whole time. (PS: Here's a link to their engagement announcement in the paper.)

Claire has discovered a new hiding place--sitting on the tray underneath the 2 sides of her easel. She looks really cute up there, so I thought I'd catch her in action. Here she is getting herself up there:

After that, she sits on the edge and lets her feet dangle over--very cute, and I wish I had a picture to show you. I don't, though, because the moment I took the picture, she fell--face first--off the edge. And this is all I caught:

Claire's New Hobby

We had some friends over on Saturday and decided a crayfish boil would be an easy way to feed a bunch of hungry guys. Well, Claire was fascinated by the little creatures crawling and clawing all over each other in the ice chest. She soon wanted to hold them and quickly learned how to pick them up without getting pinched. (Don't worry--we didn't let her participate in the cooking or eating portion of the festivities. She came inside with Mommy and enjoyed a lovely dinner of ravioli, corn, and the oranges she steals from Nathan's house every Thursday.)

Since it was such a beautiful evening we decided to walk over to the lake by our house and feed the ducks. I'm not sure who ate more bread--the ducks or Claire. She was also way too cool for us wearing her hand-picked sunglasses. Jason's now referring to her as Elton John:
