Mummies!

Claire has become quite an Egyptologist over the last month or so. She's fascinated by ancient Egypt, and, most importantly, the mummies. She knows all about the process of mummification, can pick out the god Anubis and call him by name, and even showed us today that she can interpret some of the hieroglyphs! She has also been known to choose a National Geographic show about mummies over cartoons on tv. So, when we learned that The San Antonio Museum of Art had a traveling exhibit about mummies, we knew she needed to go. She and Daddy read a new mummy book last night which sparked a deep curiosity about the actual bandages used. So that was the goal of our trip - to find some bandages. Luckily for us (and unluckily for the dogs involved), we were able to see two mummified dogs wrapped in their bandages. She also got a little peek inside the partly ripped outer shroud of a mummy and was able to see a bit of the bandages inside. The exhibit was a little intense for her, but she's still fascinated. She bought a new book at the gift shop and can't wait to dive in to it.

And, in a completely off topic note, I figured out how to blog through my phone! So now there are no more excuses why it takes me months to update this thing!
