Friday Morning

We decided to get out this morning to see what was going on, and also (more importantly) to make a donut run. There were a surprising number of people out and about, pretty much doing the same thing. HEB had run out of gas and had a full parking lot, so we went to Randalls where there was plenty of food. Lots of party supplies were being sold, and we already saw neighbors sitting on their driveway drinking beer. The wind has started to pick up, but it's nothing notable whatsoever. Tropical storm conditions are expected to start this afternoon, with category 1 hurricane conditions tonight. Things will be rainy and windy, but we'll be fine. Jason's planning on mowing the grass and finishing up some outside prep this morning, and my plan is to do a bunch of laundry and baking. We're counting on losing power, so I figure I'll get some food cooked and ready, just so we don't have to eat only canned tuna and chili. We're also turning the deep freezer in Jason's office into an ice maker, just in case.
